Cahersiveen Rowing club hosted their 50th Regatta a very proud achievement for the club and all clubs from the Mid and South Kerry Association flocked to their regatta on Sunday last it is the third points regatta of the season and competition is fierce. There was some fantastic racing with the Senior Ladies of Sneem giving a stand out performance in a field of 9 boats. The Portmagee U16 Girls and the Valentia U16 Boys put in powerfull performances to win their categories. The excitement of the day was reserved for the two youngest categories the U14 Mix which was won by the islanders again who have won all races so far in the season and the U14 Girls of Cromane took the gold in a hotly contested race with 6 boats across the water all in contention going out the break water it was a fitting finish to the 4 oars and great credit must be given to all these young ladies who pulled their hearts out.

The Seine Boat was another battle between Cahersiveen the Liberator and Cnuicin with Cnuicin getting off to a great start and going out by a length at one stage but the long and steady rowing of the Liberator gave them another win and their cox Mike Connor was happy to secure his home win. Kathleen McCarthy PRO of the South and Mid Kerry Rowing Board was delighted with the competition in all the races and congratulated Cahersiveen Rowing Club on hosting their 50th regatta a huge achievement.
